Efe Obiomah Shortlisted for 2026 National Spokesperson Awards

Public relations professional, author, marketing strategist, and founder of Brand Spark, Efe Obiomah, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Publication category of the 2026 National Spokesperson Awards, one of Nigeria’s foremost recognitions for excellence in strategic communication and public affairs.

The nomination recognises Obiomah’s recently published book, How to Build a Successful Public Relations Career in Nigeria, a practical guide designed to help aspiring and experienced communications professionals navigate the realities of building a successful career within Nigeria’s evolving public relations landscape.

Organised to celebrate outstanding achievements in communication, reputation management, and spokespersonship, the National Spokesperson Awards honour individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to advancing professional communication standards in Nigeria. The Publication category specifically recognises works that provide valuable insights, thought leadership, and practical knowledge to communications practitioners.

Since its release earlier this year, Obiomah’s book has received positive reviews from industry stakeholders for its local relevance and practical approach. Drawing from two decades of experience in public relations and marketing communications, the book addresses critical topics including career development, media relations, personal branding, professionalisation, and the future of public relations in Nigeria.

Reacting to the nomination, Obiomah described the recognition as an honour and a reflection of the growing need for more locally developed resources that support professional growth within Nigeria’s communications industry.

‘The goal of the book has always been to provide practical guidance for current and aspiring PR professionals. Being recognised by such a respected platform is encouraging and reinforces the importance of investing in knowledge-sharing within our profession,’ she said.

The nomination adds to a growing list of recognitions for Obiomah in 2026, including her recent honour by the Lagos Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) following the publication of the book.

Winners of the 2026 National Spokesperson Awards are expected to be announced at the awards ceremony scheduled to hold in Abuja in August this year.

For Obiomah, the nomination represents more than personal recognition; it highlights the value of thought leadership, mentorship, and professional development in strengthening the future of public relations practice in Nigeria.
